N Scale
The layout is comprised of three different sections that are uniquely different. Two of the sections are portable while the third is a 7x21 ft permanent section located at the clubhouse. The permanent layout is a single track mainline running through rugged mountain terrain to showcase how grand scenery can dwarf the trains in smaller scales.

Layout Scope
Prototype
Canadian Pacific Railway is the primary host railroad for the layout. Locomotives and rolling stock are chosen from what can be seen in Southern Alberta and Southeastern British Columbia during the era in which the layout is modelled. One exception is that VIA Rail provides passenger service to the layout.
Locale
Era
Operations
The layout is not modelled after any particular location but draws inspiration from terrain located in the Rocky Mountains and the eastern slopes to the prairies.
The era is set between the years of 2000 and 2010.
The layout is primarily made up of run through unit trains with some local switching and manifest operations. This type of operation helps fit with the mission of the layout which serves as a portable to be taken to shows where there is constant running. The design of the portable section of the layout also is conducive to this type of operation.
Layout Specifications

A 4 x 16 foot portable layout that can be transported to model railway shows. As it is more of a showcase layout, the portable section is designed for multiple trains running through a combination of urban and rural scenes (due to space constraints, one module is only joined when not at the clubhouse)
